Announcing the Great Requiem Eternum Fishing Contest!

In order to get the That's A Lot of Bait guild achievement and earn our [Recipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast] , we are going to be holding a fishing contest with tons of leet prizes! Our goal with this contest is to reach 10,000 fish from pools so that our guild has the best feast recipe and in the process gathers a ton of fish to make them with.

The contest grand prize is your very own [Vial of the Sands] !!!

The Vial of the Sands transforms you into a Sandstone Drake and allows you to carry a passenger on your back.

But that's not all - we have a bunch of runners up prizes as well!


Runner Up Prizes

First of all every player who does not win first place but participates in the contest and fishes up at least 250 [Highland Guppy] will receive one [Maelstrom Crystal] .

In addition a series of runner up prizes will be given away in a /random raffle. The way this will work is everyone who fishes up at least 100 fish will get to enter the raffle. For every additional 100 fish that you contribute you get to add +3 to your roll. Therefor if you fished up 1000 fish you will get to add 30 to your roll. Note that the winner of the Vial of the Sands is not eligible for any of the runner up prizes.

The top five rollers will get to pick one prize from the following list :

- an assortment of rare gems
- an assortment of archaeology keystones
- [Lil' Ragnaros]
- [Personal World Destroyer]
- [De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion]

Highest roller will get first pick, and so on.


The Contest Rules


It is very important that everyone read the rules carefully.


1. All guild members are eligible to participate including friends and family members. It also does not matter what your fishing skill is. Since we are only fishing from pools even a fisherman of skill level 1 can catch fish as well as a max level fisherman.

2. The contest will run from Friday January 20th to Monday the 24th. That means the official start time is 12:00 AM Friday morning/Thursday night and it ends at the end of Monday at 12:00. If we do not reach 10,000 fish by the end of Monday then we will keep extending the contest by one day until we have earned the achievement.

3. The winner of the contest will be the person who turns in the most [Highland Guppy] or [Fathom Eel] . These are the only two fish that count for anything in this contest because only fish from pools count towards the achievement and these are the fish that come from pools which are used in the feast recipe.

4. You cannot use any fish you got before the start time of the contest. You also cannot purchase fish off AH or get them from anywhere other than by fishing them from pools. This is all on the honor system.

5. The fish must be turned in at midnight on the night the contest ends to Maritiku. If for some reason you are unable to be there you can turn them in to an officer early. All fish will be given to the guild bank to make feasts for raids.

Tips

- The best place to fish for Fathom Eel is in Tol Barad Peninsula.

- Highland Guppy come from Twilight Highlands.

- You can fish for these fish even if you are not max level fishing. The way fishing works now is that if you are fishing in open water in a high level area and have low level fishing your chance of catching junk is increased, but this rule does not apply to fishing from pools. When fishing from pools you can catch fish no matter what your skill level.
